The Board of Trustees honored head baseball coach, Jesse Muñoz from Americas High School who picked up his 500th career win in April. This well-earned victory came after his team won a district game 11-2. He attributes his success to the dedication and hard work of his players both on the field and in the classroom.
Trustees honored Career and Technical Student Organizations students for winning first, second or third at state competitions and qualifying for national competitions. Some 140 #TeamSISD students achieved top positions at the state and national levels. Congratulations!
Trustees honored the El Dorado High School’s Academic Decathlon team. The team won first place overall in the large school category regional competition and took home several individual medals, advancing to the state competition. Nice job, Aztecs!

Trustees recognized exceptional #TeamSISD seniors from five #TeamSISD high schools who were awarded a Terry Foundation Texas Full Ride Scholarship. The Terry Foundation is a Houston-based scholarship program that provides scholarships to outstanding TX High school graduates to attend public colleges/universities within the state.
Trustees honored, Carlo Medina De La Cruz from Montwood HS (not pictured) and Jose Luis Mendoza from Socorro HS, for receiving the 2024 Gates Scholarship. This full-ride scholarship is highly selective and provides financial support to outstanding minority high school seniors. 👏🏻

The Socorro ISD Foundation - Excellence in Education awarded scholarships to forty-two #TeamSISD high school seniors. The SISD Foundation provides thousands of dollars each year to help high school students continue their education in colleges/universities of their choice and chart a path to future careers and aspirations.

The #TeamSISD celebration is one of five simultaneous celebrations across the country, distributing 150,000 free books in a single day. The Socorro event, AFT and First Book gave away 40,000 free books bringing the total number of books distributed in TX to well over 1.2 million.
#TeamSISD hosted a District Art Show Open House today. The show recognized elementary, middle and high school art show winners from the 2023-24 school year. In total, 550 awards were presented and 10 students were selected for the Superintendent’s Choice Awards. Congratulations!
