The Board of Trustees recognized Marlee Webb, a girls’ basketball coach, for achieving her 500th career victory. With over 20 years of experience, she reached this milestone in November during the Horizon Tournament title game. In her second season at Eastlake High School, Coach Webb continues to inspire her students both on and off the court. Congratulations, Coach Webb!
The Board of Trustees honored Blanca Garcia, a cross guard/monitor at Escontrias STEAM Academy, for her quick thinking in performing the Heimlich maneuver on a second-grade student choking in the cafeteria. Thanks to her courageous efforts, the student is doing well today. Well done, Ms. Garcia!
Trustees honored the Eastlake High School football team for winning for winning the 2024 UIL 1-6A district varsity football championship. The team's impressive season concluded with an overall record of 7-4 and a perfect 6-0 record in district play. The team’s head coach was also honored as the District 1-6A Coach of the Year. Congratulations, Falcons!
Trustees honored the El Dorado High School football team for winning the 2024 UIL 1-5A District Championship with an undefeated season, setting records for most offensive points in the city and school history. The team’s head coach was also named District 1-5A Coach of the Year. Great job, Aztecs!
Trustees recognized the Eastlake High School volleyball team for being the 2024 UIL 1-6A district, bi-district, and area championships, showcasing their dominance in the region. The team ranked in the top 10 of the TGCA volleyball poll for 10 consecutive weeks and finished the season among the state's top 10 teams. Well done, Falcons!
Trustees honored the Americas High School volleyball team for capturing the 2024 UIL 2-5A district and bi-district championships. The team had an impressive season, finishing with an overall record of 39-5, along with a perfect district record of 12-0. Congratulations, Trailblazers!
Trustees recognized the winner of the 2024 Superintendent’s Holiday Bake-Off Challenge. The talented team competed with enthusiasm representing their campus against five other schools. This year’s theme, “All In,” was creatively reflected in their beautifully crafted Christmas cake. Congratulations, Cactus Trails Elementary!

The Board of Trustees honored students who received top honors at the 2024 El Paso Community College K-12 Salute to the Arts contest. Four SISD students proudly represented the district at this city-wide event, celebrating their artistic talents. Congratulations to these exceptional students!
Congratulations to Ian Chairez-Marquez, a fifth-grade student at Mission Ridge Elementary School, for leading the Pledge of Allegiance at this month’s board meeting! Ian, an award-winning artist, won first and second place in a district art show in second grade and has continued to thrive artistically ever since. El Paso native and country artist Abe Mac brought festive cheer to #TeamSISD schools with his annual Spread the Holiday Cheer concert series. The show featured Abe Mac performing Christmas carols and reading his children’s book, Christmas Snow, to the delight of students. Socorro High School’s Mariachi Los Gavilanes also joined Abe Mac for a special performance during one of the shows.

🤖 #TeamSISD is excited to host its annual robotics competition, ROBOCOM XI today! This event invites students to solve real-world challenges through the FIRST LEGO League. This year's theme, "Submerged," inspires teams to explore ocean mysteries using STEM and teamwork.
Six talented student-athletes from Montwood High School signed their letters of intent today to continue their athletic careers and education at Frank Phillips College, Arkansas Tech University, University of California at Riverside, Vernon College, and Western New Mexico University! Down to a Science! 🔬 Middle school students from grades six through eight showcased their projects, aiming for a spot in the Sun Country Science Fair. This event empowers #TeamSISD students to transform classroom concepts into real-world applications through experimental design, while also encouraging them to incorporate skills from other school subjects into their research and presentations.
