Congratulations to Sierra Vista STEAM Academy, the second school in #TeamSISD and West Texas and the fifth in the nation, to achieve the prestigious National Certificate for STEM Excellence (NCSE) - Campus Certification from the esteemed National Institute for STEM Education (NISE)! The NCSE recognizes individual school campuses for their commitment to and systematic support of teachers’ understanding and use of high-impact, evidence-based STEM instructional strategies.
#TeamSISD hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the opening of the Student Activities Complex II for the 2024-25 school year. The new complex was built as part of the voter-approved Bond 2017 program and will allow the district to host more games to better serve the students and community of Socorro ISD.

#TeamSISD is bussin bussin! 🚍 The buses will serve some 1,500 students in various areas of the district. The modern vehicles will help with zero emissions in heavily congested areas. By switching from diesel gas to electric power, the district anticipates financial savings in fuel and operational costs per bus. #ALLIN
#TeamSISD was one of only 13 Texas school districts, and the only one in Region 19, to receive U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Clean School Bus Funding in October 2022. Thank you to Veronica Escobar, Texas 16th Congressional District, for being a key proponent in SISD’s application for the EPA funding. #ALLIN
#TeamSISD hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning with key stakeholders to celebrate 25 new electric school buses and charging stations for the 2024-25 school year. SISD is the first district in the region to introduce electric school buses and is #ALLIN to contribute to a cleaner environment for students, staff and the community.

The Board of Trustees honored #TeamSISD middle and high school students for advancing to and competing at the 2024 Texas Science and Engineering Fair. Thirty-five students advanced to the state competition. Congratulations to all of these outstanding scientists!
The Board of Trustees recognized the Americas HS baseball team for winning their third UIL 1-6A district and fourth straight 6A bi-district baseball championships. The team's remarkable season ended with an overall record of 27-8-1 and a district record of 14-2. Congratulations, Trailblazers!
The Board of Trustees honored the Montwood High School softball team for winning the UIL 1-6A District softball championship for the second consecutive year. The team's overall season record was 32-8-1, with a 14-2 record in district play. Congratulations, Rams!
The Board of Trustees recognized middle school students who won the Platinum Award at the Regional Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event. Students compete in four divisions and the top 10 percent of artworks in each division receive a platinum medal. Well done!
