Pebble Hills High School has been recognized nationally for its exceptional school counseling program.
The American School Counselor Association has designated the school as a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP).
The RAMP designation recognizes schools that are committed to delivering an exemplary school counseling program. Honorees are awarded for aligning their program with the criteria in the ASCA National Model, a framework for a data-informed school counseling program.
“Our department receiving this award is a huge accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication our counselors here at Pebble Hills High School put in each day for our students,” said Zulema Dickerson, Pebble Hills High School head counselor. “This recognizes the positive impact our program has on our community and the students we serve. We are honored to continue to strive for excellence in providing support and guidance to all our students.”
Since RAMP’s inception, more than 1,000 schools have earned the RAMP designation. Research findings indicate fully implemented school counseling programs are associated with a range of positive student educational and behavioral outcomes.
Angelica Quintana has been a counselor at Pebble Hills High School for three years. She said the designation reflects the dedication of the school's counselors to help students succeed.
“We use our annual student goals to drive our program with classroom lessons, small group counseling and even our individual counseling,” Quintana said. “We work collectively as a team to advocate for all our students and our program.”
The school’s counselors will be honored at a recognition ceremony at ASCA’s annual conference on July 15 in Kansas City, Mo.
