Mothers and daughters participating in event

The Socorro Independent School District will host its 11th Annual Growing Together Mother-Daughter Conference from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 4, 2023, at Eastlake High School, 13000 Emerald Pass Avenue.

All SISD sixth- through 12th-grade girls and their mothers or mother figure are invited to attend.

The conference is an opportunity for mothers and daughters to bond while exploring and learning about various topics and taking part in several activities.

During the one-day event, they can explore topics such as career choices, college opportunities, self-esteem, and self-confidence workshops.

Guest speakers will be Laura Rizo from “Rizo Speaks Life” and Iris Lopez from “Mija, Yes You Can.”

The mother-daughter conference is free, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Organizers ask that those participating bring canned goods, which will be donated to families in need within the school district.
