The Socorro Independent School District won the top prize in the biennial Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Student Video Contest, which aims to showcase the strength and success of Texas public schools.
Three Texas school districts were selected as winners, with Socorro getting first place in the large district category and receiving a $5,000 prize.
School districts were challenged to create a one-minute promotional video for their schools with students as the stars. The videos focus on what makes public schools the best choice while highlighting the success of individual school districts.

- Large district: 5,001 or more ADA
- Medium district: 1,601-5,000 ADA

Entries were judged on creativity, message, and technical quality.
