Jayde Gone is an attacking midfielder on the girls’ soccer team. She signed on to attend the University of Texas at El Paso. The four-year varsity letterman is a three-time district playoff qualifier.

"I am very excited to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Texas at El Paso,” Gone said. “It took a lot of hard work and dedication to be able to reach this goal. The best advice I can give is to never give up on your dreams despite of what others may criticize you for."

Samara Renae Lopez is a forward and defender on the girls’ soccer team. She signed on to attend Texas A&M University in San Antonio. The four-year varsity letterman is also the team captain and a three-time district playoff qualifier.

"I am extremely excited to continue my athletic career at the collegiate level,” Lopez said.

Destiny Gonzalez, who is a forward on the girls’ basketball team, signed her letter of intent with Minnesota North College, Vermilion Campus, where she plans to study criminal justice. Destiny is a three-year varsity letterman in basketball and a four-year varsity letterman in track and field. She is on the A/B honor roll and has had perfect attendance all four years of high school.

“I got here with the support of my family, friends and coaches, so I am very blessed,” Gonzalez said. “I am nervous to be so far away from home, but I am excited to continue to play the sport I grew up loving.”
