Students in Blended Learning

The Charles Butt Foundation is shining the spotlight on the Socorro Independent School District’s commitment to student success through blended learning.

The foundation, which aims to improve public education through grants and initiatives, recently featured an article on its website lauding SISD’s successful implementation of blended learning at James P. Butler and H.D. Hilley elementary schools.

Blended learning combines traditional in-person classroom teaching with online technology, allowing educators to personalize instruction using data while giving students more control over their learning.

The foundation praised the district’s family-oriented culture and effective blended learning practices, which have led to a motivated team of educators committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and equity for all students.

SISD was the first district in the El Paso region in 2020 to receive a $300,000 grant from the Charles Butt Foundation’s Raise Your Hand Texas to implement blended learning in the district.
