All six comprehensive high schools in the Socorro Independent School District have qualified for the prestigious 2025 UIL State Mariachi Festival, showcasing their exceptional talent by earning Division 1 ratings at the UIL Area Mariachi Festival on February 1.

Americas High School Mariachi Los Pioneros, Eastlake High School Mariachi Falco, El Dorado High School Mariachi Azteca, Pebble Hills High School Mariachi Los Guerreros, Montwood High School Mariachi Sangre Mexicana and Socorro High School Los Gavilanes will be among the best mariachi programs in the state to compete at the State Mariachi Festival on Feb. 21 and 22 in Seguin, Texas.

SISD stands out as the only district in the city to have every high school compete at the UIL area contest and successfully advance to the state level.

“SISD is extremely proud of our mariachi programs and thankful for the unwavering support from our campuses and district administration,” said SISD Fine Arts Director Armando Martinez. “Their success is a testament to all their hard work, and SISD is blessed to have such amazing educators that celebrate this cultural art form and ensure our students perform at the highest levels. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for state competition.”

In 2024, Americas High School and Socorro High School achieved the coveted Superior Division 1 rating at the UIL State Mariachi Festival.
