What is a School Parent Compact?

It is an agreement between the principal teachers, parents, and students agreeing to work together to guarantee student learning and academic achievement.  The compact is designed to build a learning connection between school and home furthering the success of the student.

Parent & Families Engagement Opportunities

Eastlake Middle School will provide many opportunities for parents/families to be involved in activities that ensure a supportive environment for all students.

Student Responsibilities

As a student, I understand that I share the responsibility to improve my personal academic achievement and help achieve the highest state standards for my school by doing the following:

• Attend school regularly and arrive on time by 7:45
• Be prepared to do my best in my classes
• Complete and turn in assignments on time.
• Give my family members all information sent home from school.
• Find out what I missed if I am absent.
• Complete and return homework on time.

School/Teacher Responsibilities

Eastlake Middle staff, understands the shared responsibility with parents and community to improve student social, emotional, and academic achievement.  This is accomplished by establishing a strong foundational environment that will also yield high state’s student and campus results by:

• Providing a safe and supportive learning environment
• Providing rigorous instruction that will prepare students for college and career of their choice.
• Teach grade level standards, skills and address the individual needs of all scholars.
• Building positive home, school & community partnerships by always communicating with parents.
• Be available to address questions and concerns from parents.
• Providing & establishing an organizational environment where accountability for all is an expectation.
• Help scholars follow the school and classroom rules.

Family/ Parent Responsibilities

As a parent, I understand that I share the responsibility with the school community to improve my child’s educational success by:

• Ensuring that my child attends and arrives to school on time by 7:45
• Making sure that my child’s homework is completed and returned to school on time.
• Staying informed about my child’s education and communicate with the school/ teacher by promptly reading and responding to notices.
• Check the Skyward or Schoology and school website www.sisd.net regularly.
• Monitoring attendance, tardies, grades, discipline, and my child’s overall wellbeing.
• Participating in school events, workshops, and functions that will assist me in helping my child throughout the year.

Campus Goals for Student Achievement

To help students be strong academically in all content areas, Ben Narbuth is committed to helping students be successful in all academic areas by:

• Building solid study skills and properly preparing for exams
• Recognizing and seeking additional instructional support from teachers, aides and resources offered on campus.
