Uniform Policy
Students are expected to follow both our Campestre Elementary and SISD dress code policy (DNCA).
Bottoms – Khaki or black, pants, shorts, skorts (Knee Length) or capris or JEANS (holes in pants are not allowed).
a. Worn at natural waist, buttoned appropriately & fitted properly.
b. Belt is optional.
c. Jeggings, sweats, and cargo pants ARE NOT allowed.
d. Jeans will be revoked if students are not complying with the appropriate jeans.
Shirts - Polos and T-shirts only.
a. Solid-colored Polo shirts in Red, White, or Black (School logo is not required, no other logos are allowed).
b. “Cobra T-shirts” –purchased at the school in red, black. Any shirt worn underneath must be SOLID SCHOOL COLOR (Red, Black, or White/ Orange for PK4 Only.
Mondays:
Students can wear their #TeamSISD T-shirt with uniform bottoms. Jeans are allowed, but (skinny jeans, torn jeans, baggy jeans, and jeans with big pockets (cargo) are NOT allowed).
Thursdays:
Students may wear college shirt with uniform bottoms. Jeans are allowed, but (skinny jeans, torn jeans, baggy jeans, and jeans with big pockets (cargo) are NOT allowed).
Fridays:
Students may wear Campestre Spirit Shirt with uniform bottoms. Jeans are allowed, but (skinny jeans, torn jeans, baggy jeans, and jeans with big pockets (cargo) are NOT allowed).
Shoes:
a. No steel-toe shoes and Heelys due to safety concerns
b. No backless, slip-ons, open-toed, flip flops, bedroom slippers, slides, or clogs (safety reasons)
c. No high-heeled shoes
Other Clothing
a. Length shorts/ skorts or skirts must be at arm’s length, above the knee.
b. On Free Dress Days, Length Skirts/Dresses/Shorts cannot be shorter than arm’s length.
c. No suggestive, indecent, or revealing clothing, including gang-related style/symbols (including cartoon figures), alcohol, drugs, or anything of a sexual nature.
d. No oversized/baggy clothing, jackets, or hoodies.
e. No overtight pants or jeans.
f. No torn or unhemmed pants, jeans, shorts, skorts, capris or shirts. No pants, shorts, or capris,shirts rolled up, rubber-banded, or folded under or over.
g. No sleeveless shirts, tank tops, or spaghetti straps.
h. Cargo/Carpenter shorts, jeans, and pants are not allowed.
i. Hoodies and pullovers are allowed, but students must wear a school shirt underneath. Any logos or designs on the hoodie/pullovers must be respectful and appropriate in nature.
Accessories:
a. No caps, hats, beanies, scarves, bandanas, or sunglasses worn in the building (must be put away unless designated dress up day)
b. Earrings on students should be no larger than 1”. Only 2 earrings per ear. No body piercings, facial piercings (brow, lip, etc.), or ear gauges.
c. All necklaces must be worn inside shirt. No large chain necklaces of any kind.
d. No initial belt buckles. No oversized belt buckles that are larger than a school ID or wallet chains.
e. Lanyards MUST be worn around the neck or put away. They cannot be hanging from pockets or book bags as a safety concern.
f. No excessive bracelets or jewelry. This can become a distraction.
Hair Make Up
a. No hairstyles which cause undue attention or a health and/or safety hazard, such as Mohawks, faded Mohawks spikes, mushroom or dyed/shaved designs cut into the hair.
b. Unnatural hair colors, including unnatural-colored hair extensions and highlights, may be prohibited if excessive or distracts the learning environment.
c. No hairnets
d. No cat eyes or black/brown lipstick
e. No false eyelashes or shaved designs on eyebrows
f. No long fingernails.
Other Book Bags
a. No body markings or writing on fingers, arms, hands, face, etc.
b. No tattoos/temporary tattoos.
c. Binders/notebooks must be free of inappropriate language/materials, including gang-related symbols/art, alcohol, drugs, or anything of a sexual nature.
d. No permanent markers, sharpies, or liquid paper.
e. backpacks, tote, or drawstring bags
are OPTIONAL
f. Must be of normal size. No oversized or x-large camping/hiking style.
g. Must be free of symbols/affiliations/art/drug symbols/gang symbols and inappropriate language. No writing allowed.
h. If a student brings a purse, it may not be
oversized. A small handbag is permitted.
Dress Code Violations
1st & 2nd
Offense: Student may contact parent to drop off appropriate clothing or will be provided an opportunity to borrow the appropriate clothing from the campus nurse (may be placed in lunch detention or in detention until appropriate clothing is obtained).
3rd Offense & Any Time After: The
student will receive an office referral & will remain in detention or be suspended as assigned by the administration.
**Administration reserves the right to extend the dress code to include attire not specifically listed above but deemed inappropriate.
