Welcome to AVID

What do AVID students do?

AVID students are provided with additional tutorial support from college students, mentoring and study skills in order to help them become better students and seek out their college opportunities. Students in the AVID program commit to four years of the AVID elective course, extracurricular activities including community service and fundraisers, and a course load of challenging Pre-AP and AP courses.

Students who participate in AVID can continue to take any courses they wish provided they continue on route to graduating on time and fulfilling their academy's requirements. In addition, students are provided with "Fun Fridays" which allow them to explore their academic skills through fun activities including kickball, tug-of-war, board games, quiz games, debates, and listening to guest speakers.
