Vision Statement

The Vision of Sierra Vista STEAM Academy School Counseling program is for students to maximize their potential to become lifelong learners that will improve their quality of life and grow to thrive in society. Students will be provided with the tools necessary to be independent and versatile citizens. All students to have equitable access to learning, be resilient, gain confidence, and overcome adversity. Students will prepare for their future by learning today to be productive citizens leading the 21st century to reach and achieve their fullest potential.

Mission Statement

Sierra Vista STEAM Academy School counseling mission is centered on student success to advocate and collaborate with our students, teachers, administration, and community stakeholders. They will provide students with a comprehensive school counseling program that is data driven and that aims to address the needs of all students' academic success. Aligned with our school the school counseling department fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment where students will be supported, rise, excel, and build positive relationships with one another. Sierra Vista School counseling program will foster the whole child and maximize social and emotional growth, prepare them to be post-secondary, college, and career ready, and academically successful. The goal is to ensure all students have access to an equitable education for optimal learning opportunities while contributing to the schools and district overall mission creating world class citizens.

Philosophy of Counseling

All students are important and deserve the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential in order to become lifelong learners. We provide individual counseling, group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, and parent consultations in order for students to be successful academically, socially/emotionally, and prepared to become college and career ready.
