The Board of Trustees honored several #TeamSISD Destination Imagination teams that showcased their technical skills, creativity, and talents at the DI Lone Star Finals last weekend in Arlington, Texas. Way to represent Socorro ISD!
The Board of Trustees recognized the El Dorado HS journalism team for winning the 2024 Gold Crown Award for their yearbook from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, the highest recognition given by the CSPA for overall excellence in a student print or digital medium.
Congrats to the low brass ensemble from Pebble Hills HS for being selected to participate in the 2024 Texas Music Educators Assoc. convention in San Antonio. These Spartans were chosen among a very select group of musicians to showcase their talents at the annual conference.
Trustees recognized Delaney Gutierrez from Pebble Hills HS for being awarded a prestigious 2024 Dell Scholarship. This will assist her in pursuing her dream of a higher education at Texas State University, where she will study pre-dentistry. Congratulations!
Trustees recognized Alexandra Llanes from Americas HS for her incredible artwork featured in the 8th annual Natl Art Honor Society and Natl Junior Art Honor Society Juried Exhibition. Accepting on her behalf was teacher, Jerusha Lang Cholka.

Family and friends, along with students and teachers, gathered at Col. Ben Narbuth Elementary for the opening of its Little Free Library dedicated to Delilah Rodriguez, a student who passed away last year. The Little Free library allows the community to take a book for free or share a book.
Join us for the #TeamSISD Military Summer Splash on Saturday, May 4 at the SISD Aquatics Center. ☀️ Military families may register from April 15-26 with the QR code on the flier. Parents must bring their military ID and students must be enrolled in our #TeamSISD schools.

Americas High School had three student-athletes sign their letters of intent to continue to play sports at the collegiate level and continue their education at Sul Ross University, Western New Mexico University and New Mexico Highlands University. Congratulations, Trailblazers!
What an amazing day of track and field fun! #TeamSISD students participated in 10- and 25-meter walks, assisted walks and 25, 50, 100, 200 and 400-meter runs, relay and wheelchair races, and a unified relay race. After finishing their event, students enjoyed the Fun Zone.
The Socorro HS Bulldogs welcomed Congresswoman Veronica Escobar to campus this morning. She talked to student government seniors and economics students about being active citizens. Thank you for encouraging our #TeamSISD students to engage in public service and vote.
