SISD facilities are of the highest-quality, and well-maintained to ensure students have the best learning environments. Continued improvements and new schools provide modern classrooms, specialized, and collaborative learning spaces such as state-of-the-art science labs, court rooms, culinary kitchens and more. SISD has more than 1,300 security cameras installed at schools districtwide to monitor student safety at all times. SISD also has a check-in-system in place to greet visitors and deter intruders from entering schools. Various campuses in Team SISD are LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified. SSG. Manuel R. Puentes Middle School, Chester E. Jordan, James P. Butler, Mission Ridge, Purple Heart, Sgt. Jose F. Carrasco and Cactus Trails elementary schools are designed to save energy, water and money while helping students learn how to care for the environment through various recycling efforts and initiatives. SISD’s top-notch facilities allow students in advanced academic academies and Career & Technical Education programs to gain real-world experiences and hands-on training so they graduate ready for college, career and life.
